I finally bought some Disney cards because so many people seem to want them – including Joyie in Kuala Lumpur, Malayasia! I bought a book of various Disney characters from the USPS and they’re pre-stamped!

UPDATE September 5, 2012: Hurray! My card reached its destination in 13 days after traveling 6,960 km! Manuela wrote me back in German and said: “Thank you for your card, I like it very much. Munich is beautiful but in July and September it’s very expensive and crowded due entirely to Oktoberfest. I hardly go to the city during this time and prefer to go shopping in the country. Munich is very beautiful in the winter, when the snow lies.”

Povilas is a university student in Vilnius, Lithuania who studies Geography Education. That sounds fun! The stamp is so serious though! Hahha He said he was eating blue cheese for breakfast as he was writing this card. 🙂
Favorite cheese: Feta & Adygei
A Postcrossing card! How cool! Larisa in Simferopol, Ukraine sent me this awesome card (and stamps!) She wrote that her favorite cheeses are Feta & Adygei because they are both “so light and tender and delicate!!!” I’ve never heard of Adygei but now I really want to try it because I love Feta!
Yi is an Asian student currently studying in Rimini, Italy! She said it’s a very popular place for summer vacations. This postcard is simply amazing. I don’t know what else to say! Cheese + bacon = Mmmm
Linda from Tuscon, Arizona collects cards of lighthouses (me, too!) – so I’m sending this card from New Cape Henry. She does doggie rescue (how wonderful is that?!) so I told her I do volunteer work at Fairy DogParents in Boston, and that I hope to get a Scottie dog soon! Dogs are amazing creatures!

This was a New Yorker cover on May 22, 1995, by Edward Sorel. Ling-Cian from Tainan City, Taiwan wanted to know special places to visit in “your country. Cause someday I will visit your country, I don’t want to miss it!” (I love how she phrased that – I think I should add something similar to my profile!) I think the NY Public Library (@42nd St) is an amazing place to visit. They always have fantastic (and free!) exhibits. Plus, it’s right in the heart of Manhattan!

Kira in St. Petersburg, Russia sent me this awesome card of a hydroplane!!! I was actually on this hydroplane in St. Pete in 2000. I took it to get to Peterhof. It was so much fun and I was never able to find a postcard of it when I was there – now I have one! 🙂 I also love these stamps! The bear ones are particularly awesome and I’ve never seen them!
Monique in Joure, Netherlands sent me this awesome CHEESE card! Plus a Dutch stamp I’ve never seen! Apparently in Alkmaar, they have a cheese market and during the summer, they have cheese carriers for the tourists. The cheese market was established in 1593. Also in Alkmaar is the Dutch Cheese Museum. WOW. I must go to this magical cheese city!

Her profile is fascinating… She a Postcrossing Supporter (she donated $) and she also set up an account for her grandfather who is 92! Herma from Vlissingen, Netherlands sent me this pretty card. She only lives 5 minutes from the sea! Wow! I love the stamp. 🙂
Wingli is a new member from Dongguan City, China. She contacted me on May 18 and wanted to know if I’d like to trade with her. She said she had reached her postcard limit (new users can send 5 at a time) and wanted to send more cards. I’m also at my limit so I was happy to send her a card! Wingli chose such a perfect postcard for me! I love movie posters!!! She also drew some pictures on the card and used great stamps! She wrote that she is a high school student and that Dongguan is famous for its parks and fruit (lychees and bananas). Below is the card I sent her.
Sonja in Erlenbach, Germany wrote that she used to be a bookseller, so I thought I’d send a bookcover card by Beatrix Potter. I loved Potter’s books when I was little – and I still do! I wasn’t sure where Erlenbach is so I looked it up on a map. Sonja lives 1/2 an hour from two friends of mine! I told her that, and told her I hope to go back to Germany soon!
UPDATE August 10, 2012: Hurray! My card reached its destination in 9 days after traveling 6,719 km! Sonja wrote me back in German and said: “Hello and thank you Maria, for writing in German, it is excellent(…) Thanks and all the best for you and your family.” She also told me to contact her if I go to Germany. That’s so sweet. 🙂 I will definitely do that when I go to Germany!
