Tanja lives in Düsseldorf, Germany and likes postcards of dogs. I wrote this card the day after the Presidental Inauguration, so I figured the perfect card to send would be of the Obama’s dog Bo. 🙂
HURRAY! My card reached its destination in 14 days after traveling 6,420 km! Tanja said she really loved the card and thought that Bo is really cute.
Favorite cheese: Parmigiano Reggiano
Anna from Germany sent me this card today. I saw the lederhosen on the bottom left, and immediately had flashbacks to when I wore a dirndl for two years at a German restaurant many, many years ago! The picture of Neuschwanstein Castle made me really want to go back to Germany. I missed it both times I was in Germany. I love the postmark! It reads “Schreib mal weider” or “Write soon.”
I opened an Etsy shop! I’m selling postcards, bookmarks and stamps (so far). My favorite postcard and bookmark are pictured above. 🙂 To celebrate, I’m offering an Etsy coupon code for the next week at 10% off: ROWESANDCOLUMNS10
I will be adding many more items soon!
Evelyn lives near Meizhou, China and sent me this AWESOME train card! I love trains. I lived on one for 7 months while I was working for a circus.
Sari from the Netherlands collects strawberry postcards and stamps, and has over 400 strawberry cards and just a few less stamps! I think that’s so cool. I don’t have any strawberry postcards or stamps, but I did have this adorable card that’s on her favorite list. 🙂 I added a Wisconsin stamp to it! I told her I also love collecting stamps, and my friend Valerie recently gave me one with socks on it. I think it’s pretty funny, so I want to see if I can find more sock stamps!
HURRAY! My card reached its destination in 14 days after traveling 6,420 km! Sari said, “Absolutely the most beautiful card ever!!! Thanks a LOT!! All the very best for 2013! I try to find you a stamp with socks.” Awesome!!! 🙂
This is the sock stamp I have – it’s from Sweden:
I received a 2nd card from Maud! It took me a little while to figure out why she sent 2. But I’m guessing it’s because her 1st one took 26 days to arrive and she was probably worried it was lost in the mail. Mail from the Netherlands usually only takes 7-10 days. Despite her reasons, I like it and I love the stamps! I am sending her a card back to say thanks! 🙂
I swapped cards with Wesley in the Netherlands a few weeks ago and he loves owls. I was recently at the Virginia Aquarium where I saw this owl postcard and I just had to get it for him! He was really happy to get it today. 🙂
I sent Marlee in Tornio, Finland a mapcard since it was on her list of favorites. I told her I love the Finnish cheese Juustoleivästä, and that it’s super hard to find in the US. So when I go home to Wisconsin, I buy it and bring it back to Virginia. 🙂
HURRAY! My card reached its destination in 13 days after traveling 6,758 km! Marlee said thanks for the “wonderful and great” card, and that she also loves Juustoleivästä, but they call it leipäjuustoksi. Good to know!
Yiqi lives in England, but was in China over the winter school break. She sent me this cute card while she was abroad! Unfortunately the Richmond Post Office ripped it up, but I still love it. 🙂 I love the stamp too!!! It was funny to get her card today, because I mailed one to her today.
