I sent this card to Maaike in Kollum, Netherlands. Her profile said she likes birds, so I thought she’d like this card of Virginia’s State Bird, the Cardinal! 🙂 She also wrote on her profile that she was collecting stamps to make a collage to put in a frame, so I sent her a few. 🙂
HURRAY! My card reached its destination in 9 days after traveling 3,956 km! Maaike wrote, “Wow, you really made my day! The stamps are amazing! Just yesterday I was working on framing my stamps and I was disappointed that I was short of just a few. But now I can finish my little project 🙂 The cardinals are such beautiful birds. I have never seen one irl. […] Thanks again for the lovely mail. All the best, Maaike”
Silke from Velen, Germany, wrote on her profile that she likes postcards of animals, so I sent her this one I picked up from Chincoteague Island, Virginia. There are many wild horses that live there – I saw them this past summer and it was amazing to see them roaming around!
HURRAY! My card reached its destination in 10 days after traveling 4,022 km! Silke wrote, “Thank you so much for the beautiful postcard. Your postcard is adorable. I also like the stamp and the sticker you used. I appreciate that very much. I send you my best wishes. Have a nice day! Silke ;-)))
Merve from Ankara, Turkey sent me a lovely letter today, along with these great stamps, and super cute foam dog sticker! 🙂
Last, I sent her these cards from Wisconsin, and a few stamps since she collects them! 🙂
I sent this card to Claire in Speedway, Indiana, USA. It’s of a vintage photo from 1898 from the midway of a Ringling Circus in Washington, D.C. I recently went to Circus World in Baraboo, Wisconsin where I picked it up! 🙂
HURRAY! My card reached its destination in 7 days after traveling 498 km! Claire wrote, “Thank you for the postcard! I love old photos and this one is very cool. Have you been to Peru, Indiana? It claims to be the circus capital of the world. It has been home to seven of the world’s major circuses for their winter headquarters. Happy postcrossing!” (And no, I haven’t been to Peru, Indiana, but I’d love to go there someday!)
I received this wonderful card from Iceland via Ingrid in Jackson Heights, Queens, New York, USA recently. 🙂 I LOVE the stamp, and the photo is just gorgeous. Thank you so much Ingrid! 🙂 Iceland is on my “Top 5” places I want to see right now, although I do really want to see and explore every country!
I swapped with Sierra in Brea, California, USA and got this wonderful postcard of Native American Tribes of California! This is so cool! 🙂 I’d love to have one from every state. I also LOVE the vintage stamps! 🙂
I recently traveled back home to Wisconsin for my cousin’s wedding, and found a few more mapcards to add to my collection (shown above)! 🙂 Very oddly I found the Iowa one at Paul Bunyan’s in Wisconsin Dells, which is a few hours from Iowa, but they didn’t have any Wisconsin mapcards! 🙂 That’s fine though, because I was missing an Iowa mapcard, and now I have one in my collection!
