Sent Card #75

75-SPAIN-feb7.2013 75-SPAIN-feb7.2013-stamps

This card went to Ainhoa in Spain. She likes cards with unusual buildings so I sent her this one from Milwaukee of “The Domes”. It’s official name is Mitchell Park Conservatory, but everyone calls them “The Domes”. There are 3 domes and each houses different climates and plants – tropical, desert and a rotating theme.

HURRAY! My card reached its destination in 11 days after traveling 6,136 km! Ainhoa said, “Hello María, thank you for the postcard!!!!! Its a very interesting idea and building, I really like it, have a nice day!!”

Above is a picture of my dad and me from the 80s. 🙂 Some of my fondest memories of Milwaukee are going to the Domes!

Direct Swap #12

Roberto in Spain contacted me Dec. 19th about swapping cards (any) so I said yes! He sent me the card below of Alcalá de Henares, Spain which is where Cervantes (of Don Quixote fame) is from!

It didn’t matter to him which card I sent, and I noticed he had favorited a lot of cityscapes, so I sent him one of Richmond.
