I sent this card to Daniel in Thal, Switzerland, who said he likes black and white cards. It’s a photo of Union soldiers during the Civil War so it was taken sometime between 1861-1865. I love old, historical photos, and this is one of my favorites.
HURRAY! My card reached its destination in 7 days after traveling 4,250 miles! Daniel wrote, “Hello Maria. Thank you very much for your card in German! I wish you a nice time in Richmond. Happy postcrossing from Switzerland”
Gustav from Zürich, Switzerland is trying to collect postcards from US state capitols, so he wrote to me asking for a postcard of Richmond, VA. I really like the card he sent me because I really like flags, plus the stamps are super cool! 🙂
I sent Gustav the card below (one of my favorites of Richmond!):
Yay! The Randall Family sent me two postcards today. The first is from the Musées d’art et d’histoire de Genève in Switzerland. The second card is a Christmas card from Ireland! I’d love to go to Ireland for Christmas someday… or any day really! 😉 The second stamp and postmark are really interesting to me… The mark is so far from the stamp, and without the wavy lines… I’ve never seen a postmark like that.
